EverLast® Receives BRICK Award from the Jackson Chamber of Commerce!
January 28th, 2013 - The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce hosted its 104th Annual Meeting on Thursday, January 24, 2013 and presented a select few Chamber members with the Ambassador of the Year, Brick, Entrepreneurial Vision, Athena and Small Business Person of the Year awards in front of an audience of over 500. Amongst the recipients, EverLast® was honored with the prestigious Brick Award.
The Brick award honors the owner of a building who has substantially upgraded the physical façade and facilities by improving the interior and/or exterior of an existing building within the last three years, or honors the owner of a new building that has been built from the ground up within the last three years. The owner must be a Chamber member. “We are honored to award EverLast® for the work they have done by not only creating a building that is beautiful and “green”, but for investing in the Jackson Community through their time, energy and money,” said Mindy Bradish-Orta, President of the Jackson Chamber of Commerce.
The 72,000 sq. ft. building allowed EverLast® to begin manufacturing a variety of energy-efficient induction light fixtures; commercial fixtures being the main line. Several of the building's "green" features include: geothermal heating and cooling; solar/wind powered hybrid parking lot lighting; recycled energy-efficient window glass; bamboo walls; pervious concrete that absorbs rainwater and filters it back through the watershed; daylighting controls; and solar tracking skylights that track the sun throughout the day to capture more of the suns usable light by reflecting light that would be otherwise lost when the sun is low in the horizon.
In addition, the building was built on a Brownfield Redevelopment site which is unique and also rare because Brownfield sites are abandoned or underused industrial and commercial facilities available for re-use. As a result, Michael Nevins received a business growth loan from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation in support of the construction of the building.
In regards to business growth, the building has allowed EverLast® the room to create more than 30 jobs in the past two years.

EverLast® Heads to ChicaGO Green!
January 15th, 2013 – On January 24th, EverLast® will be at the ChicaGO Green conference in Chicago, Illinois boasting several of our Induction fixtures. Debbie Preston, our Commercial Sales Manager, will be in attendance with KSA Lighting to field any questions and connect you to EverLast®.
The ChicaGO Green 2013 showcase gives companies the opportunity to display the latest products, services, and innovations to captivate audience of industry professionals. During the one-day event, visitors will have an up close look at the latest technologies available in the ever changing green building market, as well as learn about updates to the Energy Code, Utility Grants and Incentives, Alternative Energies, Electric Vehicles, and more during the afternoon break-out sessions.
The event is in its 4th year and is hosted by the Electric Association. As the attendance has grown, the conference has been moved to a much larger venue and will be staged at the Donald E. Stephens Conference Center in Rosemont this year.

EverLast® Lighting Wins JAMA's 2012 Jackson Manufacturer of the Year!
January 9th, 2013 - The Jackson Area Manufacturer's Association (JAMA) Manufacturer of the Year Award is given in recognition of both success within the industry and contribution to the success of the broader Jackson Community.
To earn this award, an individual must have owned or principally operated a JAMA member manufacturing business for more than five years and must have demonstrated a measurable positive impact on operations over at least a three-year period. Outside of their company doors, the individual must be looked upon as a model of success in manufacturing by his/her peers and additionally must be a contributor to the success of the local community beyond the company’s economic impact (through school involvement, volunteerism, or other community organization support).
EverLast® is proud to announce that we are JAMA's 2012 Jackson Manufacturer of the Year!
The award was given out late Monday evening during JAMA's 76th Annual Meeting at the Jackson Country Club. There was an exceptional turnout, and an overwhelming support from the manufacturing community as their were nearly 350 Jackson area manufacturing representatives in attendance.
Special thanks to Bill Rayl, Executive Director of JAMA, the Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee for this recognition!

EverLast At A Glance: A Look Back At 2012!
December 31st, 2012 - Each time we reach the end of a year, we open new doors to new beginnings, new dreams, and new achievements! As we are hours away from 2013, we look back on EverLast®'s successes and some key moments in 2012 that will be paiving the way for 2013!
February 20th, 2012 - EverLast® joins the Michigan Manufacturer's Association and fosters new relationships with other local manufacturers while expanding Michigan manufacturing awareness! The membership also allowed EverLast® the opportunity to participate in several state wide conferences, and programs for Michigan Manufacturers.
March 12th, 2012 - EverLast® launches Energy Efficiency Awareness campaign in an effort to foster new relationships with key publics, manufacturers, and community members across the state of Michigan. The campaign was kicked off at EverLast®'s headquarters and co-hosted by the Jackson Chamber of Commerce. The 9 month campaign has resulted in a heightened awareness of the EverLast® products and allowed EverLast® to garner new relationships as we also hosted the 2012 Michigan Ambassador Conference at our facility.
April 12th and 13th, 2012 - EverLast® flys in all of it's Representatives from across the United States and hosts a two-day Symposium establishing stronger relationships while providing new training, educational segments, catalogs, and product information.
April 19th, 2012 - EverLast® launches new website design equipped with accessible social media, blog outreach, 360 degree fixture rotation views, aethestics overhaul, new coloring and web design, and interactive comment board.
April 23rd, 2012 - Brandon Marken, and Kyle Leighton participate in Good Morning Greater Jackson radio interview in addition to a WKHM interview with Greg O'Oconnor discussing MMA Award, and Michigan Energy Awareness Campaign!
May 3rd, 2012 - EverLast® announces that the BioLume Series introduced in 2010 has officially been U.S. Trademarked and registered amongst the line of EverLast® fixtures! The series was a collaborative effort developed by the California Lighting Technology Center (CLTC) at UC Davis, and EverLast® Induction Lighting.
May 9th, 2012 - Michael Nevins, CEO of EverLast®, receives state wide award alongside Chrysler Group as a Small Tier Michigan Manufacturer of the Year. There are over 15,000 manufacturers in the state and it was an honor for EverLast®® to be amongst one of the eight recipients of the award. In addition, tED magazine also conducted an interview on the Green Electrical Sales and the T12 phase out!
May 21st, 2012 - EverLast® joins the National Association of Electrical Distributors! In addition, tED Magazine recognized EverLast® in it's first article from Light Fair International!
July 4th and 5th, 2012 - EverLast® hosts hometown fireworks show for the 4th of July on Wolf Lake in Napoleon while raising a substantial donation for the Boy Scouts of Camp Teetonkah! The event boasts nearly 12,000 people and is an excellent way for us to give back to the community.
July 11th, 2012 - Brandon Marken, our Vice President of Sales, was recognized with a national award as a rising star in the electrical industry. tED Magazine hosted the awards ceremony in Chicago, and Brandon was amongst the 30 recipients!
August 14th, 2012 - EverLast® hosts Summer Training in collaboration with the California Lighting Technology Center (CLTC) at UC Davis as Dr. Michael Siminovitch conducts a 1-day, two-course workshop geared towards lighting representatives, architects, designers, and specifiers. The course placed emphasis on terms, theory, and compliance. Furthermore, the course was LIVE streamed from EverLast® HQ.
August 15th, 2012 - The EverLast® Commercial staff undergoes it's first social expanison and establishes an online community via LinkedIn!
August 22nd, 2012 - EverLast® announces capitol expansion and purchases heavy fabrication machinery in response to growth. The new machines will create jobs at EverLast®’s South Street facility and allow the company to manufacture critical components in several of the fixtures; some parts that were previously produced elsewhere.
August 28th, 2012 - Brandon Marken and Bryan Schultz head back to WKHM for a second interview with Greg O'Connor and Ric Walton!
September 28th, 2012 - EverLast® hosts the 2012 Michigan Ambassador Conference in collaboration with the Jackson Chamber of Commerce at our facility with nearly 150 in attendance! Mike Nevins, CEO of EverLast® also gave a very inspirational speech during the event!
October 4th, 2012 - The EverLast® Commercial staff undergoes it's second social expansion and digs in roots to Twitter for LIVE conversations!
October 26th, 2012 - EverLast® lands an installation with the Green Bay Packers, and generates excessive media attention on MLive and WLNS! The attention also resulted well over 100 individual shares and several thousand viewings of WLNS's video via their website and YouTube!
December 1st, 2012 - EverLast® staff discusses best practices in the Jackson Chamber of Commerce's December/January newsletter!
December 4th, 2012 - It is announced that December 3rd officially marked the first day of EverLast® manufacturing facilities expanding operations to two shifts as the move has created several new local manufacturing jobs!
December 14th, 2012 - The Cape Cobra street light fixture is officially launched as EverLast® continues to boast some of the most innovative products in the industry!
December 31st, 2012 - The EverLast® family gets together one last time to close the door on 2012, and ring in 2013 together!
