October 14, 2010 - Last night, approximately 400 American citizens congregated at a town hall meeting held in Jackson, Michigan to support The Alliance for American Manufacturing's "Keep it Made in America" Town Hall Tour. The Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM) is a unique non-partisan, non-profit partnership forged to strengthen manufacturing in the United States.
Michael Nevins, President/CEO of Full Spectrum Solutions, Inc. was asked to speak about what his company is doing to help stimulate the Michigan economy and how government policies can be changed to more effectively support manufacturing in the U.S. In his speech, Mr. Nevins explained that before the recession and before the stimulus bill, he decided to bring jobs back to the U.S. by increasing his manufacturing capacity right in Michigan.
Mr. Nevins also talked about a current, bi-partisan bill, written by Congressman Mark Schauer that would limit the total value of Chinese goods acquired by the U.S. government and compel the U.S. Government to spend more U.S. tax dollars on domestic goods rather than pouring our hard-earned tax dollars into China. "We need clear proactive policies that reward genuine manufacturers and we need the government to use our tax dollars to procure American manufactured goods," Nevins stated. He concluded his speech with an enthusiastic, "Let's keep it made in America!"
