Trade Show Tuesday’s: Connections from Building’s NY

May 8th, 2012 - We have just begun the month of May, and we already have one trade show wrapped up!

Several of our representatives have already departed to Las Vegas so those of you that are headed to Light Fair, make sure to stop by our booth #837.

Today's news reflects on some of our amazing experiences in New York with our second "TT" post: Building's NY!

At the show Alex Orr fielded questions pertaining to EverLast® and exhibited some of EverLast®'s latest solution options.

"The Buildings New York event was a great chance to meet and converse with new clients and existing EverLast® customers. I could feel the urgency from the attendees to use EverLast® Lighting products to further their efforts in going green! Furthermore, It is evident from the Building’s New York show that EverLast® is not only recognized as a leader in induction lighting, but cultivated into a trusted brand amongst the lighting industry," Alex stated.

EverLast® has had several installations in the New York. Installs range from facilities such as Fort Drum Military Base, International Paper, Mount Holyoke College, and the Shores at Lake Pointe Apartments.

As a result of these installations, EverLast® has made a name amongst facility managers and contractors alike in the state of New York.  Alex also commented, "We manufacture lighting fixtures that satisfy building needs because of those issues, and as a result we have been received well by industry professionals.  It is widely accepted that EverLast® as a manufacturer has a vast understanding of budgetary constraints, light output, and energy conservation."

EverLast® is Michigan Manufacturer of the Year!

MMA AwardMay 7th 2012 - At 1:30pm tomorrow, EverLast® Lighting’s CEO Michael Nevins will be presented an award for being a Small Tier Manufacturing winner at the MMA Award Ceremony.

There are over 2,000 members of the Michigan Manufacturer’s Association, and it is an honor for EverLast® to be amongst one of the 8 recipients!

The MMA CEO & Executive Forum is the signature event of Michigan Manufacturing week, May 6th through the 13th.

The event brings manufacturing leaders together from across the state to discuss the most pressing issues impacting manufacturers each year, manufacturer to manufacturer.

No other event provides the same kind of interaction, open dialogue and honest sharing about what matters most, not only to manufacturers, but specifically to Michigan manufacturers.

This week of the year is especially important as it is Michigan Manufacturing Week.

Listen to our Commercial Sales Director, Brandon Marken, discuss the story on WKHM News Talk 970 here!

B.B. King’s Blues Club – From early morning to late night, B.B. King's Blues Club serves sumptuous cuisine fused with that southern comfort touch.

May is National Electrical Safety Month!

May 1st, 2012 - Be on the look for some amazing news coming in May from EverLast®

We'll have some special posts this month about Light Fair, the Michigan Manufacturer of the Year, the West Coast Management Energy Congress, and the National Association of Electrical Distributors!

Follow us on Twitter @everlastlight if you aren't already, and you can get updates from us in real-time!

In addition, May is National Electrical Safety Month so let’s load up with some great safety tips from OSHA!

  • Assume that all overhead wires are energized at lethal voltages. Never assume that a wire is safe to touch even if it is down or appears to be insulated.
  • Never touch a fallen overhead power line. Call the electric utility company to report fallen electrical lines.
  • Stay at least 10 feet (3 meters) away from overhead wires during cleanup and other activities. If working at heights or handling long objects, survey the area before starting work for the presence of overhead wires.
  • If an overhead wire falls across your vehicle while you are driving, stay inside the vehicle and continue to drive away from the line. If the engine stalls, do not leave your vehicle. Warn people not to touch the vehicle or the wire. Call or ask someone to call the local electric utility company and emergency services.
  • Never operate electrical equipment while you are standing in water.
  • Never repair electrical cords or equipment unless qualified and authorized.
  • Have a qualified electrician inspect electrical equipment that has gotten wet before energizing it.
  • If working in damp locations, inspect electric cords and equipment to ensure that they are in good condition and free of defects, and use a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI).
  • Always use caution when working near electricity.

Leave a comment and let me know what you’re doing for Electrical Safety month!

Thanks for reading, and be safe!

April Wrap Up!

April 30th, 2012 - April has been exceptional to EverLast®! Over the course of the last few weeks we have had overwhelming support for press coverage coming from all sorts of different mediums. Bryan Schultz, an EverLast® Commercial Representative, and I recently attended the 2-day Michigan Rural Development Conference in Crystal Mountain, Michigan. We made some great connections while we were there, and had an opportunity to spend time with John Bebow, Bridge Magazine’s CEO!

Additionally, be sure to look for EverLast® in tED Magazine’s July issue feature article on Generation Y leaders and how we are affecting the lighting industry.

Special thanks to tED Magazine, and Brian Peters at the National Association of Electrical Distributors for the opportunity!

More over, EverLast® CEO, Mike Nevins, was also recognized as a Finalist for the Michigan Manufacturer of the Year award! The award is to be presented May 8th in Lansing, Michigan with Governor Snyder, Michael Finney, and Chuck Hadden. Big thanks to Lauren Gentile at MLive for writing an article on it as well!

Click here to listen to what Brandon Marken had to say about the award on AM 970’s Talk Radio with Greg O’Connor.

For even more news take a peek at our most recent press releases as well on Yahoo! Finance, or MSNBC!

Updates are being tweeted daily from @everlastlight.
